The lights will activate two different ways: when motion is detected within a 15-feet range or with a wave activation. Once motion is no longer detected, the light will turn off with its built-in auto timer after 20 seconds to preserve the battery. It is easy to recharge the battery, like any smart device; just plug in to a USB wall adapter and 48-inch USB cord (included) to charge until indicator light turns green. Once fully charged, the battery will last 3.3 months with an average of eight 20-second activations per day.
