Customer Questions
When using eave mount, how do the motion sensor controls face downward?
Please view our eave installation video below. If you require further assistance, please reach out to customer service at 1-800-291-8838. We are available Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm CST. Security Light Installation Part 5: Eave Mount Installations
The LEDs in the light seems to still be on even after the light goes out.
Any one of combination of these can cause a LED fixture or lamp to light up slightly. 1. There is a neutral wire within the electric circuit that isn't bonded with the earth. (Check all the way back to the panel.) 2. The earth wire is at a high resistance. (Check all the way back to the electrical panel.) 3. There is an electromagnetic induction causing an electric pick-up along the cable wires. 4. The type of light switch or dimmer is incorrectly connected. Please reach out to customer service at 1-800-291-8838 for technical support and/or warranty replacement. We are available Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm CST.
Is there manual override to keep lights on, then reset automatically in the morning?
Yes, you can put this fixture into manual override by toggling your wall switch. It will reset the following day. SETTING THE LIGHT MANUAL OVERRIDE:
If the security light has been turned off at the switch, turn it on for 60 seconds to allow the (PIR) sensor time to warm up prior to initiating the manual override sequence. To switch over to manual mode, switch the power OFF ON-OFF-ON within 2 seconds. There are 2 ways to return to sensor control:
1) To immediately switch out of manual mode, repeat the manual mode sequence of power OFF-ON-OFF-ON within 2 seconds. This will cancel out manual mode.
2) The security light will remain on until the internal dusk-to-dawn sensor detects the next dusk-dawn cycle. Once light is detected, it will allow the motion sensor to return to controlling the fixture the next day. Watch our YouTube tutorial here: Security Light Installation Part 10: Manual Override of PIR Security Light
Is there any way to bypass both the dusk to dawn and motion sensor so that the light comes on with the switch and remains on until the switch is turned off?
You can put the fixture into manual override to control VIA the wall switch. However, this is not permanent. The fixture will reset the following day once it detects light. Watch our YouTube tutorial here: Security Light Installation Part 10: Manual Override of PIR Security Light
The light stays on when it should not. There is a circular, faint red light on in the bottom part (the sensor). What does the red light indicate?
The red light in the sensor indicates that the sensor is picking up motion. Please reach out to customer service at 1-800-291-8838 for technical support and/or warranty replacement. We are available Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm CDT.
We only want light to come on with movement during evening hours. What setting controls this?
This fixture should only come on during the evening with motion once the time and distance is set. Please reach out to customer service at 1-800-291-8838 if you require technical support. We are available Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm CDT.
Will the sensor swivel right to left?
Yes. The sensor will swivel side to side.
Is it possible to set the distance at 30 or 40 feet or only at 10, 20, 50 or 70 feet?
You can set the range between those distances.
How do I adjust the brightness of the light? The box indicates "Light coverage extends out at a minimum distance of 47.5 ft and a width of 44 ft when set at 2100 lumens"
You cannot adjust the brightness level of the fixture. It should come on at full brightness when activated. You can only adjust the time and distance/range.
Why would you want to apply the gasket to the outer edge of the surface mounting box? Would it not make sense to use the sticky side of the gasket on the outer edge of the mounting area of the fixture itself? If you ever wanted to relocate the light the gasket will be suck to the junction box.
The purpose of the foam gasket is to prevent water from getting into the junction box, not the fixture. Sticking the gasket to the box creates a better water seal around the box. Also, the fixture will inevitably move when it is screwed into place. Sticking the gasket to the non-moving box ensures the box-to-fixture connection is always covered with the gasket.
